It is with great regret that I must announce the retirement of one of our campers from service. Sadly, it was my fathers camper. Another one of those dumb ass storms blew through yet again and this time it was just too much for his camper to withstand. At this time, he does not plan on purchasing a new camper so, for now, it is the end of travelling together across Iowa to find a new spot. I’m very saddened but at the same time I totally understand the tough decision.
My camper took a direct hit from the wind but stayed still. I only live about 5 miles away. I always carry water in my camper when a storm is expected so that if the power goes out, I can still have running water. Sadly, his was empty. Is that the difference?
When you live on an acreage, you depend on electricity to even flush the toilet. The storm before this blew my camper off the blocks even with water in it but it stayed up on all fours.
