We have not had a chance to get out until now for the 2025 season. The weather has been un-cooperative and other activities have also kept us occupied.

Having said all that, we managed a return trip to BlackHawk SP. This is a nice little, sometimes cozy state park we have been to before. We stayed four nights (Thursday – Monday). The first two days were storm after storm. In fact, we converted one of the canopies into a rain gage overnight.

The internet here is not the greatest but it works. I think that might be a good thing. The last thing I really wanted to do was thinking about anything outside my immediate environment. The radar worked fine and that’s all that counts.

We had plenty of food. In fact, some leftovers. Anyway, we cooked breakfast as usual but this time elected to get the cast iron out and make sure it still works. It still works as it turns out. We also smoked some pork and even visited a local pizza shop in town. All in all a good visit except for the weather (for the first two days).

Below please find a few photos we took during our stay. I didn’t compress these for the web like I usually do so if they do not load the first time, try a refresh.
